[edit] White paper activity “RWI reference model”
In parallel, work towards an RWI reference model should commence. While there are plenty of results emerging from the RWI related projects, it is important to establish a common terminology to discuss effectively RWI solutions across the currently fragmented activities. Many of the projects have developed their own architectural assumptions and definitions and have come up with design rules and guidelines for protocols and solutions in the RWI problem space. It is now up to us to synthesis these views, identifying common architectural building blocks and discussing the aspects where our designs and underlying principles differ. The outcomes of such discussion should be reflected in another white paper on RWI reference model and shared with the rest of the FIA community.

[edit] White paper activity “RWI problem space”
As more results have become available from RWI related projects, it is now important to analyse their suitability for the RWI research problem space and gain a qualitative and possible quantitative understanding of their performance. For this we may also have to consider technologies that may have to be developed in other FIA communities that may have relevance for the RWI problem domain. Based on this understanding a redefinition of RWI problem space should take place, outlining further priorities where RWI research will have to focus in future. The outcomes of such stock taking activity and comparative study need to be documented in an RWI white paper, created by the community members, and provide a solid basis for influencing the discussion of future work programs.
